Notes to accompany the .ZIP file version of the demonstration disk
for Dolphin Software's Dolphin C Toolkit (Version 1.30)
The demonstration disk is provided as part of the Dolphin C Toolkit, to
accompany the library disk, and is also provided separately. It is
organized as follows:
The root directory contains five text files: 3PREFACE.TXT (the preface),
4GLANCE.TXT (the contents of the documentation at a glance), 5CONT.TXT
(the detailed contents), CHAP4.TXT (about the demonstration programs),
READ_ME.TXT (this file) and ORDERFRM.TXT (an order form, in case you
don't yet have the library).
In the .ZIP file version of the demonstration disk the root directory
also contains (i) the VALIDATE.EXE program (see below) and twenty
executable demonstration programs and (ii) the C source code for these
programs (other than for MCDEMO.EXE and VALIDATE.EXE).
The executable versions of the demonstration programs may be run as they
stand. Their use is described in Chapter 4 of the documentation and in the
file CHAP4.TXT on this disk.
The source code for these programs may be compiled with the Microsoft C
Compiler (Versions 5.10 - 6.00A) and with the Turbo C++ Compiler only if
the required Dolphin header files are present. The header files are not
present on the demonstration disk; they are provided on the Dolphin C
Toolkit library disk.
If you did not receive the demo disk directly from Dolphin Software then
the VALIDATE.EXE program may be run to check that the file sizes and
dates of the executable programs have not been changed. VALIDATE.EXE
also checks that its own date and file size are as they should be.
This .ZIP file version of the demonstration disk and the files in it are
copyrighted by Dolphin Software. However a general license is hereby
granted to distribute this .ZIP file version of the demonstration disk
so long as it is not modified and nothing is charged for this beyond the
cost of distribution.
